Mineral List:

I test everything in the periodic chart to see if the body is harboring any excesses of minerals including heavy metals and gasses. Those minerals in BOLD are the ones we can supplement with Best-Bet Foods.

New Vision Ionic Minerals contain trace minerals as well as the major minerals and are the best source of overall minerals without the heavy metals in some colloidal brands.

Note: If you have vertical ridges on your fingernails, it means that you are not assimilating and absorbing the nutrients you are eating so really will do better with the New Vision Ionic Minerals. It's easiest to order via the phone by calling the toll free number 1 -800-772-1888. Order under ID 229-728-901.

The clients I put on this product think it's great and many have been taking it for over ten years! For more info on fingernail analysis, click here. I don't mean to be pushy about this, it's just a product that I really believe is fantastic and a good solid place to start on your path to health.

Minerals

I often find a deficiency of minerals when doing my medical intuitive exam, especially zinc, manganese, potassium, iron and calcium. Minerals in general are high in raw vegetables. There are some minerals in raw fruits, but raw and cooked vegetables, seeds, nuts and whole grains are usually the best source for organic minerals. For a list of all the minerals I check and some best bets for replacement of them through food sources, click here. Please note that I have also included at the bottom the periodic chart which lists those minerals that can be toxic to us in the form of heavy metals and gasses, like Tellurium which often comes up for those people who have done some kind of welding in their lives.

We must replenish the minerals we are deficient in before our bodies can run at peak performance. Adding a general all-around mineral supplement will not correct the deficiency of the one or two minerals you are deficient in. It will only bring up the level of all the minerals in the body. Let's put this into perspective:

What if you were making a batch of cookies and had all the ingredients except flour. Would the recipe turn out? You could possibly substitute a different type of flour, but it wouldn't taste the same, and you really need the flour to complete the recipe. Another example would be using rum in your gas tank. The car may still run, but not nearly as well. Well, it's the same with nutritional deficiencies. Your body may work OK, but it just wouldn't work the same as if you had all that you needed in the proper proportion. That's why we test for individual excesses and deficiencies and correct these with natural food substances or good quality organic supplements.

The body may be able to use lower-quality supplements, but the amount of fillers and inorganic (dead) components won't let the body work at full speed in it's building, repairing and detoxification processes.

Organic vs. Inorganic Mineral Sources:

The other thing we need to get across is the difference between organic forms and inorganic (synthetic) forms of vitamins and minerals. Organic forms are live and make the body work magic. If the body does not have this organic form, it will use the inorganic (dead) form of the substance as a cheap substitute to prevent disaster from happening. The problem is that the cheap substitute does not function very well and ends up slowing all the biochemical processes of the body down to low gear. You can still function, but not at peak performance and not at top capacity.

For example, let's look at common table salt. The salt we get at the store is inorganic sodium and inorganic chloride. Many of the minerals have been removed and the ore has been heated with extremely high heats. It is then bleached and manipulated by adding flowing agents and inorganic iodine. Using too much of this type of salt clogs our arteries with plaque and concretions. Celery is extremely high in organic sodium. When we drink celery juice and eat raw celery, the organic molecules knock off the inorganic ones because the body likes it better. The result is that our blood vessels are cleaned out (over time), we urinate more as the body flushes out the toxins, which follow the inorganic sodium molecules, and our body starts to alkalize and feel better. Even sea-salt sold in our local health food stores is inorganic with all the heating and bleaching that occurs to prepare it for the shelves. The sea-salt that you want should be moist and gray like Celtic Sea Salt. The mineral molecules within this salt are organic and better for us. The salt crystals are nestled in a substance called "mother liquor" which also harbors lots of good trace minerals we need. You can eat Celtic Sea Salt and not have the repercussions of high blood pressure.

(If you don't want to pay the $35 to join the Grain and Salt Society, you can purchase half-pound bags from our office for $8.55 plus shipping. I use the product myself and always carry it.)

Acidity vs. Alkalinity:

Now, with regards to acidity and alkalinity, raw food sources of vitamins and minerals (raw fruits and vegetables) are processed through the body and leave an alkaline ash. Why is this important? Well, acid bodies are sick bodies. We have to expend a lot of energy to utilize refined carbohydrates and proteins, and these foods leave an acid ash. If we don't balance this acid with alkaline, we only get more acid which leads to more illness. To some extent, the body can go for years without serious consequences of our poor eating habits, but eventually the acids catch up to us, leaving a sick and wasted body. Symptoms of an acid body
